Happier stomach
Before I became vegan I had severe problems with my digestive system, to the point where I was diagnosed with IBS. I suffered for years with this, I tried everything… colonic irrigation, tablets, cut out harsh foods that were known to be hard to digest.. but nothing worked until I changed my diet and became vegan. It could be a coincidence that it all COMPLETELY stopped after this transition or a miracle? But doctors have said that going plant based was probably the cure for my personal issues. Im not saying this is the same for every person however if you are struggling like how I did maybe try It for a month and see if you see/feel any differences.
Skin
I did notice a small change in my skin after becoming vegan, I was eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies that were high in vitamin C which is known to help improve skin hydration. I found myself not wearing makeup and covering up my natural skin because it was looking so full and healthy
Weight loss
I was vegetarian for 4 years before I became vegan. Now some research shows that’s cutting meat from your diet can help with weight loss, and I’m sure in some cases that is true, However make sure you watch what your replacing your meat with, personally I gained 14pounds after becoming vegetarian because I was replacing my meat with carbs and dairy and yes carbs are amazing things and help keep our energy levels high but if you have too many it can have a really bad effect and cause some problems. Do your research before making a transition, you don’t want to end up worse off because you where lazy - harsh but true.
Health
Having a vegan diet has been known to lower cardiovascular disease and help improve blood pressure, I have personally never been to the doctor to check my blood pressure or had any heart issues before becoming vegan but I have seen other health benefits like having a better digestive system, skin improvements and having more energy. If you are ever concerned about your health before you are about come vegan I would suggest going to your GP getting some tests done and then try a vegan diet to see if it helps with any health issues you may be having
Overall
Switching to a vegan diet has many benefits, but it does come with some complications. Yes switching to a plant based diet is amazing for the environment, animals and your body but it can sometimes be a lonely place, I have experienced that sometimes having a different diet to people can prevent being social and make you feel quite alienated, however what I have found to keep my spirits high is going to local vegan markets and events to meet more like minded people, its great to speak about what your passionate about with people who won’t judge you for your diet/lifestyle choices.
